Exactly, for the first time in well over a decade when Enron stuck it to then Governor Gray Davis, California is finally back in the black. It hasn't exactly been a pleasant process but you’ve got to keep your financial house in order to remain competitive in the global marketplace.

Jerry had a good mentor in terms of his old man Edmund G “Pat” who was viewed by many as something of a progressive and championed many popular programs for the folks of California in regards to the aqueduct, higher education, fair employment and the state economic development projects to name just a few.

Unfortunately his popularity began to decline after the Watts Riots, The Free Speech Movement UC Berkeley and his stance on the death penalty which eventually gave rise to the Reagan’s legacy in office.

I think Jerry is determined to see the "High Speed Rail" project as his legacy!
